Karen Gillan reveals her bald head at Comic-Con after shaving her hair off for new film role

Where did it go? Karen Gillan unveiled her shaved head at Marvel's Press Line after showing off a sleek red wig at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Saturday

She appeared the previous day at Comic-Con sporting a luxurious head of shiny red hair.
But it turns out Karen Gillan had us all fooled.
The 25-year-old showed off a bald head a little later at the Marvel press line, revealing her previous hairdo was in fact a wig.

The big reveal: Karen took off her wig to reveal her hair during the press conference

The Doctor Who star shaved her head for her role in the 2014 Marvel flick Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Karen plays Nebula, a villainous pirate who spends much of her time trying to wipe out entire civilisations.
The actress wore a wig on Friday for a panel for season three of television show NTSF:SD:SUV, before unveiling her bald head for the Marvel panel the following day.

Weight off her shoulders: The 25-year-old looked pleased with her new look as she smiled mischievously for the camera

Nymph-like: Karen showed off her slender figure in tiny shorts paired with black boots and a crop top

Do you like it? The actress gave a thumbs-up sign as she posed on the red carpet

Karen has a busy year ahead as she launches her movie career.
She is currently hoping to make waves as she waves goodbye to her breakout role on Doctor Who.
Along with Guardians Of The Galaxy, she will star in the upcoming supernatural thriller Oculus.
She also has British romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending under her belt.

Not Another Happy Ending premiered in June at the 67th Edinburgh Film Festival.
In the film she plays a writer called Jane Lockhart who is blocked on her second novel, after achieving huge success with her first.
Shot in Glasgow late last year, the film also stars Stanley Weber (Thérèse Desqueyroux, Borgia), BAFTA-nominee Iain De Caestecker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Filth, Young James Herriot), Kate Dickie (Prometheus, Games of Thrones) and Freya Mavor (Skins).
