Rebounding from split rumours: Michael Douglas takes a tense-looking Catherine Zeta-Jones by the hand as they attend basketball game

By MIKE LARKIN

Most valuable couple: Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones rebounded from rumours of a split by watching a basketball game in New York on Sunday

Last week they were forced to deny rumours they had split.
And it seemed Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones were as happy as ever as they attended a basketball game in New York on Saturday.
However, the pair looked slightly on edge as they went to watch the former's favourite team the Miami Heat take on the New York Knicks in their own back yard.

Feeling the Heat: But worried looking Michael should not have been so scared as his team romped home

But they need not have worried, for the China Syndrome star's team ended up romping home in a tightly fought contest.
The A-list pair managed to blend into the crowd as they made their way to the historic Madison Square Garden arena.
The pair appear to have rebounded a week after the pair rebuffed National Enquirer claims they were in the midst of a 'hush hush trial separation.'
But Michael, 68, certainly must be confident in the state of their relationship as he showed no fear as he took his wife of 12 years along to watch the sporting event.

A vision of spring: The Darling Buds of May star was looking as great as ever in her colour-coordinated ensemble

The Wall Street favourite dressed down for the occasion by donning a leather jacket purple sweater jeans and black shoes.
Catherine, 43, meanwhile looked far more chic in a colour-coordinated outfit of grey jacket, loose fitting top and open toed boots.

Helping hand: Michael was quick to get behind Catherine and help her as she got out of their car

The pair looked in a serious frame of mind as they headed to the game, and now ponder, as the Heat had lost their previous two matches against the Knicks.
But while the latter made a game of things, they ended up being on the wrong end of a defeat in front of their home fans after the NBA champions won by 99-93.
The victory and gave the Heat a franchise-record tying 14-game win streak.
