The Duchess of Cambridge takes a turn on the OTHER side of the lens: Personal photographs from the royal couple's time in Borneo are released on their new website

By TONI JONES

The royal couple were hoisted up a 42 metre rainforest tree during their visit (this picture is not part of Kate's photography collection)

Photographs taken by the Duchess of Cambridge on her recent trip to Borneo have been published on her official website.
Kate, who is a keen photographer, took the shots on her own camera during a visit to the Danum Valley Research Station during her Diamond Jubilee tour to South East Asia and the South Pacific with the Duke of Cambridge.
The pictures capture the couple's awesome surroundings in the jungle and include pictures taken on their private walks through the Borneo forest as well as images captured while the Duke and Duchess were flying to the Solomon Islands.

This photograph was also taken on a private jungle walk. Every tree is itself a kingdom of creatures and plant life with a surrounding atmosphere of light and noise and humidity

The couple travelled into the jungle to the research station in the Malaysian state of Sabah where they were hoisted more than 40 metres up into the rainforest canopy to see the eco-system.
They also saw orangutans during their time on the island and Kate captured one of the endangered species in silhouette.

Kate’s images were published today on www.dukeandduchessofcambridge.org.
The trip to Borneo took place at a testing time for the couple, in the midst of the publication of pictures of the Duchess sunbathing topless on holiday in France.
A photographic diary of a typical day in the life of William in his role with the RAF’s Search and Rescue Force in Anglesey, Wales, will also be published on the site on Tuesday.

There are no new updates on Prince Harry because of his overseas stint in Afghanistan.
On the Prince of Wales’ site www.princeofwales.gov.uk, there is a new video clip about a recent visit by heir to the throne Charles to open of the Prince’s Drawing School Dimplex Studios at Dumfries House near Cumnock in Scotland.
Speaking about the projects at Dumfries House, the Prince, who turned 64 last week, joked: 'Impatient, me? What a thing to suggest. Yes of course I am. Well I’ll run out of time soon. I shall I have snuffed it if we’re not careful.'
