So they are fashionable after all! SJP joins catwalk models and tech moguls in trying out Google glasses at New York Fashion Week show

For months, the tech world has been abuzz with talk of 'Google Glass', a headset which will allow users to impose digital images on the world around them.
However, the futuristic technology has mostly been restricted to secretive gatherings of the world's computing elite.
But now the glasses have shown up in an unlikely new environment - New York Fashion Week.

Delight: The star was clearly taken aback by the hi-tech experience of wearing the glasses

Google founder Sergey Brin was pictured wearing the glasses while talking to Wendi Murdoch before DVF's Spring 2013 show on Sunday afternoon.
And Wendi was not the only member of the Murdoch family to admire the unique eyewear - her husband Rupert also spoke of his delight at coming into contact with the glasses.

Model: Some of those on the catwalk also wore the glasses as part of an upcoming documentary

The media mogul tweeted: 'Genius! Sergey Brin showing revolutionary new glasses at DVF, can take photos, receive texts, give directions, and more.'
Another big name to try out the glasses was Sarah Jessica Parker, who looked delighted with the bizarre experience.

Futuristic: This is the first time anyone outside Google has been seen wearing the glasses in public

Google Glass sets were not just being worn on the floor of the show - they also made an appearance on the catwalk.
Several models wore the glasses as part of a project to record the show to make into a documentary due to be released later this week.
Designer Diane von Furstenberg and several of her assistants and models have been wearing Glass during preparations for the event, and their experiences are set to be edited together the video.

In a press release announcing the collaboration, Google and DVF said: 'Today we're thrilled to collaborate with the visionary and celebrated designer Diane von Furstenberg.
'For the past week, we've been using Glass to capture the DVF creative process from entirely new perspectives.
'Soon you'll get a glimpse into what it's like to design, prepare and experience the DVF show at New York Fashion Week through Diane's eyes and a few other views.'
